Hello

My name is Mark. I am the founder of the Torah Pursuant Method. It is really simple. You can do it!

Think of this as spiritual formation based on the teachings of Yeshua (Jesus). He commanded his disciples to take his teachings to the ends of the earth. You are now participating in learning his teachings. Thank you!

The Torah Pursuant Life Guide

Learning to Live by the Commands of Yeshua

A man once told me, “I’m trying to follow God, but I’m not always sure what that looks like on a Tuesday afternoon.” That’s honesty. Yeshua gave us his teachings. He gave us his commands.

“If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15).

This guide gathers 84 of his commands and sets them in their proper place. These are not new laws. They don't replace the Torah. These represent the living voice of a Rabbi who teaches Torah rightly and calls us to walk it out with Him. There are more teachings than these. But, this is a start.

What follows is simple. It's also demanding. It will reshape how you pray, how you speak, how you spend, how you respond when stressed... your whole life.

What this guide is

  • A structured path to live the mitzvot of Yeshua

  • Rooted in Torah, expressed through His teaching

  • Built for daily obedience, not just study

How it is organized

  1. Love God & Neighbor

  2. Kingdom Life

  3. Worship & Prayer

  4. Community & Discipleship

  5. Justice & Mercy

  6. Witness & Mission

How to use it

  • One command at a time

  • Scripture first

  • Torah connection next

  • Then a simple act of obedience

Foundation: What “Torah Pursuant” Means

Yeshua did not add to or take away from the Torah. He revealed the Torah to his disciples. But, he went past the surface obedience of his day and applied the Torah to the heart. He created new hearts. And so, those of you who have heard you are to "invite Jesus into your heart," This is how you do it.

The commands of Yeshua are Torah-shaped commands. They show what love looks like when it is real, authentic, transparent. The teachings show what holiness looks like when it is lived in real relationships.

So this guide isn't about collecting teachings. It is about walking them out in real life. The renewed mind/heart guides your actions/witness/testimony. So, allow your heart to be transformed.

Section 1: Love God & Neighbor

Everything begins here. If this is weak, everything else doesn't hold together.

Core Direction

Love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Love people as you love yourself. Do it in real ways, not just in your head or themes... not in your "self-talk." Be practical. Be real.

Key Mitzvot (Summary)
  • Love God with all your heart

  • Love your neighbor as yourself

  • Love your enemies

  • Forgive

  • Show mercy

  • Do not return evil for evil

What This Looks Like in Daily Life

You wake up and turn your attention toward God before anything else.
You choose not to replay offenses in your mind.
You treat the difficult person at work with patience instead of quiet hostility.

This is simple but definitely not easy. Make yourself do it!

Section 2: Kingdom Life

The Kingdom is not far away. It is in your daily decisions.

Core Direction

Live under God’s rule now, not later.

Key Mitzvot
  • Seek first the Kingdom (Matt 6:33)

  • Do not worry about tomorrow (Matt 6:34)

  • Store treasure in heaven (Matt 6:19–20)

  • Let your light shine (Matt 5:16)

  • Be humble like a child (Matt 18:3–4)

  • Enter by the narrow gate (Matt 7:13–14)

What This Looks Like

You order your day around God instead of ignoring Him.
You stop rehearsing fears about the future.
You choose obedience even when it costs something.

This is where many people hesitate.
Doing this really is costly. That’s why it leads to life.

Section 3: Worship & Prayer

Yeshua clears away performance. He brings us back to reality.

Core Direction

Draw near to the Father with a real heart.

Key Mitzvot
  • Worship in spirit and truth (John 4:23–24)

  • Pray continually (Luke 18:1)

  • Pray in secret (Matt 6:6)

  • Ask, seek, knock (Matt 7:7)

  • Forgive while praying (Mark 11:25)

  • Keep Shabbat as a gift (Mark 2:27)

What This Looks Like

You pray in quiet moments, not just public ones.
You speak plainly to God.
You rest without guilt one day each week. (Shabbat)

Keep it grounded. Don’t turn prayer into performance.
Note: Memorized prayers are not performance.

Section 4: Community & Discipleship

No one follows Yeshua alone. He forms a people.

Core Direction

Walk with others in truth, correction, and care.

Key Mitzvot
  • Make disciples (Matt 28:19)

  • Teach obedience (Matt 28:20)

  • Serve one another (John 13:14)

  • Restore those who sin (Matt 18:15)

  • Forgive when there is repentance (Luke 17:3)

  • Care for the vulnerable (Matt 25:35–36)

What This Looks Like

You don’t ignore sin. You address it carefully.
You don’t lead from above. You serve from below. Think of the phrase "Invisible Servanthood."
You stay engaged even when community gets messy.

That last one is where people often quit. Don’t quit!

Section 5: Justice & Mercy

Here the inner life becomes visible.

Core Direction

Live with integrity and compassion at the same time.

Key Mitzvot
  • Do not harbor anger (Matt 5:22)

  • Guard your speech

  • Pursue purity

  • Honor marriage

  • Refuse retaliation

  • Judge rightly (John 7:24)

  • Practice generosity

What This Looks Like

You check your tone before you speak.
You walk away from revenge.
You give when it would be easier to keep.

Justice without mercy hardens. Mercy without truth weakens. Yeshua holds both together.

Section 6: Witness & Mission

This is where everything flows outward.

Core Direction

Carry the Kingdom into the world.

Key Mitzvot
  • Preach the good news (Matt 10:7)

  • Heal and pray for the sick

  • Be wise and pure (Matt 10:16)

  • Do not fear people (Matt 10:28)

  • Confess Yeshua openly

  • Abide in Him (John 15:4)

  • Be ready for His return

What This Looks Like

You speak about your faith naturally, not forcefully.
You pray for people when the moment comes. (Practice prayer by praying on your own a loot.)
You stay steady even when there is pressure and craziness.

You don’t need to be loud. You need to be faithful.

Core Practices Built Into This Guide

Mitzvah of the Week
  • One command

  • One Scripture

  • One action

Stay with it for seven days. Let it become your habit - your way of life.

Daily Rhythm (Simple Pattern)
  • Morning: align your heart with God

  • Midday: return briefly in prayer

  • Evening: review your obedience

Weekly Rhythm
  • Shabbat rest (the end and beginning of your week)

  • Community gathering (every week!)

  • Quiet reflection (daily quiet time with the Lord)

Personal Recommendations
  • Say the Shema including the "love the Lord your God..." part as you get up and as you lie down.

  • Learn about spiritual warfare (the authority you have to bind/resist temptation)

  • Talk to the Lord all day long (a continuous quiet conversation with the Father)

  • Listen to Scriptures in the night and praise and worship songs during the day

  • Always attend community gatherings for Shabbat services, the Moedim/feasts, Oneg/Potlucks, etc. Be actively engaged with the faithful - become one of the faithful!

  • Build your home and family/children to represent Yeshua

  • Don't "Fake it till you make it!" Instead be a disciple/student of Yeshua's teachings.

Final Encouragement

This way is narrow. Yeshua said so. But it's not confusing or impossible.

Love God. Love people. Obey what He said. Then do it again tomorrow.

You don’t need to master all 84 commands at once. Take one. Walk it out. Then take the next.

That is how a life is formed. Slow and steady. Peaceful and secure.
