STATUS NOTICE
DEVELOPING
Lyell Press is building its editorial, review and publishing processes. Contributor interest is open. Individual projects and roles are reviewed separately.
LYELL PRESS
Scholarship Worth Preserving
Lyell Press exists to give careful scholarship, faithful teaching and useful cultural work a durable form. Publishing is not simply printing what someone has written. It is the work of testing, refining, documenting, designing, preserving and responsibly distributing ideas.

What We Hope to Publish
Torah and biblical studies
Spiritual formation and derekh eretz
Jewish-Christian dialogue
Yeshua and the Jewish world
Research and methodology
Culture and human flourishing
Technology and AI ethics
Carefully developed reference works and institutional resources
The Lyell Publishing Promise
Every serious Lyell Press publication should reflect these commitments.
Editorial rigor ensures content meets scholarly or trade standards for the genre.
Qualified review by subject specialists or editorial peers prior to final approval.
Integrity of sources, rights, and attribution remains non-negotiable.
Durable physical and digital forms that honor the effort of the scholarship.
Balanced distribution strategies that reach both academic and common readers.
Transparency in AI usage and disclosure of substantive automated assistance.
Human responsibility for final content, verification, and ethical alignment.
Long-term stewardship of manuscripts, including preservation and metadata update.
Faithful commitment to Torah-consistent values in all editorial decisions.

Review Protects the Reader
Serious Lyell publications should not depend upon one person doing everything. Appropriate books should receive qualified examination beyond the author, and scholarly monographs should ordinarily receive independent subject review.
“The purpose of review is not to make every book say the same thing. It is to make sure the reader can trust how the argument was made.”
Source, Rights and AI Integrity
Quotations and images must be attributed appropriately; fabricated citations and altered evidence are prohibited; contributors must have the right to submit their work; material AI assistance should be disclosed when required by the project; final responsibility remains human; substantive corrections should be recorded rather than quietly hidden.
